Creating a blog has been a dream of mine for almost eight years now. I've gone back and forth with attempting to do it or let fear of failure stop me. I've tried before but gave up because of that said fear. However, these past few years, I've been on a renewal journey with the Lord, and we have done some wonderful healing work. I felt it was time to come back to this dream and let the Lord guide it.
Living an Uncorked Life has been a way of life for me. If you're wondering what "Living an Uncorked Life" means, at least to me, is living my life authentically before the Lord. Uncorking or releasing my anxiety's, fears, or doubts as the world wants us to keep them bottled up. The Lord did not design us to live in anxiety, or with a spirit of fear. I feel as though our western culture of Christianity has become more about religion than relationship with Jesus Christ. This has been a hard battle for me to realize because I have to admit I was one of those 'Christians'. I had my faith-based relationship with Him, but I didn't have the obedience. What I had was the 'Jesus loves me, this I know' regardless of how I walked or lived my life. He is the forgiver and He won't hold my sin against me. Isn't that what we are taught? I still believe that, but these last three years my journey has taken me down a path of realization that God IS still the same, yesterday, today, and forever. (Heb 13:8). He is a God of love, but He is also a Holy God who desires higher for His children. He doesn't desire His beloved to continue to walk in sin but walk in right relationship with Him. I've been studying the Old Testament, these past few years and I have discovered the beauty of His nature and who He is and along the way, I have come to love and cherish and fear Him even more. Everything He does is from an overflow of LOVE towards His children. What does the Bible say, 'God is love. He is good, and He does good.' I have come to find this to be true in every circumstance that I've been faced with over these past few years. I'm not saying life has been easy, or smooth. But through every battle, disappointment, or loss, He has comforted me in ways that I didn't know was possible.
The desire for this blog is to be able to share scriptural insights and things Holy Spirit has been revealing in my life and hope it engages you, the reader to ponder and offer your insights to how the Holy Spirit moves you and teaches you. We are all one body, with Christ as the Head, and Holy Spirit is the one who brings us to true conviction and truth in Jesus. Every person is on their own journey wrestling out their own salvation, but as brothers and sisters we are told in Ephesians 4:11-16 to spur each other on and equip each other with true doctrine. The Lord has walked me through too much to keep it hidden inside and I hope you join this journey along with me. Welcome to Living an Uncorked Life.
